I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you
with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,
may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people,
to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,
and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled
to the measure of all the fullness of God.

This is the scripture that Pastor Brady opened First Wednesday service with this week. As we worshipped and prayed through the evening, I felt impressed that many of us are getting weary of the fight. We’ve battled consistently and with perseverance, with honor and the Lord by our side. But now, some of us are on a knee, with our shield of faith poised to protect us while we try to catch our breath.
I believe the Lord wants you to know that it is alright to catch your breath. He has your back. He has hemmed you in before and behind. You are secure. You are fighting with expertise, but it is hard and it requires you to pause and breathe deeply from time to time. This is not a sign of weakness but one of wisdom. You cannot fight without the breath of the Holy Spirit filling your lungs and giving you strength.
So, breathe deeply and remember that you are not only rooted in love, you are established in love by Him. Why? So you may have power to grasp how immense Christ’s love is for you and know beyond a show of doubt that He fills you with His Spirit to accomplish what He has entrusted to you.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine,
according to his power that is at work within us,
to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations,
for ever and ever! Amen.

So take a deep breath, wipe the sweat from your face, straighten your armor, and take confidence that He will finish what He started – in, through, and with you. His ways are wildly more than we can imagine. And He is wildly in love with you!
